After Queen Tea Shop: A Hidden Gem for Authentic High Tea

Good quality was high and price was exceptionally reasonable. Compared to other high tea places, After Queen was well valued. The interior and atmosphere was tight but felt like I went back in time. Very authentic establishment. My only rant would be one of the waitresses could be nicer and smile more.

Beautiful place inside the plaza. Tea is great, food is just OK. The decor inside is beautiful. Very hot if you seat outside. Best washroom decor.

Really beautiful place to have some afternoon tea. This place is really good for photography, we two girls took a whole bunch of pictures here and those are amazing! I love the scones and cucumber sandwiches! The desserts are tasty too! Not too sweet! $38per person before tax, that’s totally worth it!

I visited this café with my sister last weekend and found its ambiance quite unique. The decor had an English café vibe, with antique items that gave it a royal touch. The menu was limited, probably due to the weekend, but the food was tasty and creative, though a bit pricey. It was quite crowded, which I found slightly uncomfortable, and from the outside, it wasn’t obvious that it was a café. I feel that the space is more suited for women’s gatherings and works well for such meetups. Overall, it’s a special and different spot worth checking out!

After Queen Tea Shop is a small spot tucked inside a plaza with little visible signage. We went for a birthday high tea with a group of 12 and ordered the classic package, which included a variety of sweet and savory bites. The tuna and salmon were the highlights, while the rest were fairly average or lacked flavor. The tea selection was excellent and offered plenty of choices. There’s a two-hour seating limit, and for larger groups, bills aren’t split, so one person had to cover the total. Overall, a decent experience for the price, though a more premium option can be found elsewhere.

The experience was pretty good . The food was good and had a good flavour . The salmon was good and tasted fresh . They had different types of teas . The cheesecake was good . The eggsalad sandwich was good . The scones with the butter was good also . The space is pretty small. There are limited seating . They don’t do crepes on the weekend . 8/10

We wanted a high tea experience without a high price tag and was told that this place fit the bill. Upon walking in we felt like we were walking into a vintage British establishment. We opted for the Classic Afternoon Tea option which is a set price of $38 per person. We decided to go with the Ice Wine Tea as we’ve never tried a boozy tea and it was really good! The food was good and our favorite thing was the scones. The crust was crispy and the inside was really soft and moist. We can’t say enough about the scones. They were some of the best we’ve ever had! The Egg Salad Sandwiches were a close second. Keep in mind there’s a two hour time limit.

Today we visited the Afternoon Tea Room (as it’s very fitting for the Victoria long weekend), and I must say it was like going back in time in a Victorian era. I loved and appreciated all the lovely details of lace and antiques. This was indeed a charming and cozy ambiance. The hospitality was kind and warm from our hostesses Shirah & Lali. Plus the high tea of gourmet salad with quiche and decadent desserts and savoury sandwiches was superb. The scones also was served warm served with the clotted cream and jam. We really appreciated everything from start to finish. Thank you!
